Amina Razvi
For more than 20 years, Amina Razvi has worked to transform the apparel and textile industry into one that is more sustainable, equitable, and just. As CEO of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), the leading global multi-stakeholder nonprofit alliance for the consumer goods industry dedicated to transforming business for exponential impact through groundbreaking tools, collaborative partnerships, and trusted leadership for industry sustainability, Amina is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the organization. Under her stewardship, the SAC has grown to represent almost half of the apparel, footwear, and textile industry, including more than 280 retailers, brands, manufacturers, NGOs, academics, and other stakeholders. Their mandate is clear: Transform the industry into a force for good by measuring and addressing social and environmental impact along the entire value chain.
Previously, Amina served as Vice President of Membership at the SAC; while transitioning into her current role, she steered the executive team and liaised with the Board of Directors to shape and enact the organization’s current strategic vision. Prior to the SAC, Amina’s role on Gap Inc.’s Global Sustainability team resulted in the development and implementation of environmental initiatives that spanned owned facilities and supply chains, creating a holistic sustainability strategy that furthered ambitious energy and waste goals. Amina also led the first large-scale deployment of the Higg Index across Gap’s supply chain, and has been involved in the creation, development, piloting, and rollout of the Higg Index since its inception.
Armed with a background in architecture, including a master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and experience designing and managing construction on projects from skyscrapers to museum complexes, Amina’s experience extends beyond corporate sustainability and reflects a passion for collaboration. Under her leadership, the SAC launched pioneering initiatives and tools while forging strategic partnerships and alliances to fuel innovation, amplify positive impact, and drive real-world transformation.
