In this transitional period for the textile industry, we will explore the current policy landscape and its direct impact on Chinese manufacturers. This session will cover topics such as the EU’s Circular Economy Action Plans and SBTi initiatives. Additionally, WRI will provide updates from their report titled “Apparel and Footwear Sector Roadmap to Net Zero” and share their research on “Fashion Brands Scope 3 Decarbonization: Based on China’s Experience.”

SAC and SLCP join forces to discuss the value of Higg Facility Social Labor Module, CAF and the partnership between the organizations. This session will outline the path forward for the industry in measuring social labor and prepare us for the greater conversation to happen later in the day, “Embarking on Responsible Manufacturing: Prioritizing Health & Safety and Sustainability Journeys.”

This course is designed as a 4-hour in-person workshop, including presentations from our expert team, a live Q&A and opportunity for members to share their experiences. Join us to future-proof your facility and gain the knowledge and skills to prepare for the transition to Higg FEM 4.0.

• Understand the importance and benefit of setting science-based targets
• Develop your own greenhouse gas inventory and set emission reduction targets using the SBTi’s target setting tool
• Be better positioned to meet the growing demand for global decarbonization efforts

This course is designed as a 4-hour in-person workshop that includes presentations from our experiences sustainability professionals, interactive activities and guided exercises for reinforced learning. At the end of the course, participants will be given an online test to understand if the participant can apply the knowledge and skills required to set a science-based target. A course certification will be granted upon completion of the course and achieving at a passing rate of at least 70% on the test.

This 3-hour breakout will be broken into three sections. First, we will have a panel to better understand what the health and safety standards are for Chinese manufacturing companies today – what’s working and what isn’t? Then we will explore what service providers can offer solutions to resolve the previously discussed issues, and how this can increase FSLM users’ scores. Finally, we will hear first hand anecdotes from industry experts with their learnings and best practices.
