Eranthi Premaratne is the SAC Director, Facilities. Eranthi leads the overall facilities work, which includes the Higg Facility Environmental Module (Higg FEM) and the Higg Facility Social & Labor Module (Higg FSLM). She is also responsible for verification of all modules in the Higg tools. Angela supports her through work in the Higg FEM and Higg FSLM, while Dhawal supports her on Higg Index capacity building and verification. Eranthi additionally focuses on the SAC’s equal partnership work.
Eranthi is a lawyer by profession and holds a BSc in bioscience and a master’s in international relations from the University of Colombo. She has over 20 years’ work experience specializing in sustainable business practices in apparel manufacturing. She joins the SAC having completed over 14 years at MAS Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, a sophisticated design to delivery apparel solution provider. Eranthi joined MAS having worked at Nike Inc. Sri Lanka Liaison Office as a corporate responsibility specialist.
Eranthi has had wide exposure and knowledge working with brands and retailers, the International Labor Organization, International Finance Corporation, and Better Work to uplift the global industry standards. Eranthi is no stranger to the SAC as she has represented MAS within the SAC community since 2012. Some of the key projects she has been involved in include setting up the Higg FEM in its early stages, the Social & Labor Convergence Program (SLCP) from 2016 to 2018, representing MAS and the manufacturers caucus within the SLCP. Eranthi was also a member of the Higg Brand & Retail Module Advisory Team from 2019 to 2020.
Eranthi works passionately to empower young girls volunteering her time at her alma mater to improve & uplift standards of learning. She is an advocate for working women and is involved in designing and implementing programs to support this cause. She is the mother of two young children, Leanna and Shanik, and likes to engage in light exercise and read when she finds some time for herself.
