Marianna is the Sustainable Apparel Coalition Senior Director of Business Development and Membership, overseeing the APAC region. She focuses on connecting with SAC members, guiding them to use the Higg Index and apply resources that drive adoption of the Higg tools, including through supply chain collaboration among members. Marianna organizes regional round table discussions, manufacturer forums in the region, and identifies fundraising opportunities to develop and deploy effective methods to support members in creating a ripple effect throughout the value chain to procure impact improvement.
Prior to joining the SAC, Marianna managed the supply chain sustainability program in Asia at Ascena, the parent company of ANN INC. She developed the implementation strategy and piloted the program with strategic suppliers in tier 1 and tier 2, building business cases and roadmaps to scale the programs dedicated to improving sustainability impacts. The programs focused on social & labor performance, women’s empowerment, and the Higg Facility Environmental Module. The women’s empowerment program reached more than 100,000 women in the value chain throughout five years, helping them improve their health and financial literacy.
Marianna lives in Hong Kong with her husband and son, who love rugby. Marianna is a certified mini rugby coach for kids under 8 and actively supports the union to promote rugby in the community.
